Counting Shells
My three year old started engaging in this math learning experience before I was even done thinking through the activity. I had just printed out and cut-up these number cards and had set them down on the table next to the shells, so that I could make lunch. The next thing I knew, she had almost completed the activity of matching the correct number of shells to the correct number card.
This learning experience helps to solidify one-to-one correspondence, number recognition and counting skills. I plan to rotate the items for counting, one day it could be rocks in a bucket and the next day beads in a jar...
We would love to hear about your counting adventures!
