Recycled Craft Jars
We recently discovered the book, Eco-Craft by Susan Wasinger at our local library. When we saw this project with recycled jars - we knew that they would be the perfect addition to our atelier.
They are easy to make - simply paint the lids with a low voc wall paint (we bought the small, sample size at the hardware store). Then, use masking tape to create the rectangle for the label (see below). Next, paint 2-3 coats of chalkboard paint - waiting approximately 5 minutes in between coats. Remove the masking tape while the final coat is still wet. You can use a razor blade to clean up the lines after the chalkboard paint is completely dry.
The girls loved writing (and illustrating) the labels for their favorite craft supplies!
