Beautiful Stuff: Recycled Craft Inspiration
Beautiful Stuff: Recycled Craft Inspiration
We scored! After being inspired by the book, Beautiful Stuff! by Cathy Weisman Topal and Lella Gandini, we headed off to a local recycling center to pick out some new craft supplies. We came home with fabric, wire, wood, buttons, sparkly paper, velvet ribbons...and the list goes on We are just starting to tap into the potential of our new materials and thought we would share our first couple of projects, as well as some other inspiration we have discovered from around the Web...

We filled our craft closet with these wonderful supplies from a nearby Materials Resource Center.
Our youngest made a wooden block structure. Next, she wants to make a sketch of her completed creation—just like in the book, Beautiful Stuff!
We also installed a nature tapestry in our backyard. We weave in any newfound natural or recycled treasures. It is an ever evolving tapestry that will change as the seasons change.
Thank you to Ms. Reyer for the creative inspiration!
