A Sneak Peek: The Very Fairy Princess
A Sneak Peek and Giveaway: The Very Fairy Princess
“...you can be whatever you want to be. You just have to let your SPARKLE out!”
—The Very Fairy Princess
We had a chance to take a sneak peek at the new book coming out by Emma Walton Hamilton and Julie Andrews called The Very Fairy Princess. While The Very Fairy Princess has the same initial appeal as favorites (my daughters’) such as Fancy Nancy and Pinkalicious, readers are in for a pleasant surprise. The Very Fairy Princess is not your typical princess book. The underlying message that runs throughout the story is one that makes children feel good and parents even better.
Geraldine, the main character is 100 percent true to herself and believes that anyone can be a princess (or a prince) as long as they let their “sparkle out.” Her “royal duties and responsibilities” include rescuing frogs, being supportive of friends and looking for problems to solve. What I love most about reading this book are the conversations that follow about inner sparkle. Each one of us talked about what brings our sparkle out. It was wonderful to hear the girls reflect on when they feel at their very best. After many readings and discussions we now comment on when we see someone sparkling. What a wonderful way to view the world!
I highly recommend adding The Very Fairy Princess to your home library collection. It is already a favorite of ours that we often refer back to during family conversations. Although the publication date is not until May 18, you can pre-order the book here.
The giveaway is now closed. Congratulations Amanda!
What makes you sparkle?
